What is FairMoney?

FairMoney is a licensed online lender, that provides instant loans and bill payments.

How can I get an instant loan?

You need an Android phone. Download the FairMoney app here from the Google Play Store. Sign up with the phone number linked to your BVN, answer a few questions and confirm your identity to receive a loan offer. If you accept it, you will receive your loan instantly in your preferred bank account!

How much can I borrow and for how long?

FairMoney offers loans from N1,500 to N1,000,000 for a period of up to 2 years. The better your lending history, the more you can access and the longer the period!

What is the interest rate?

The interest rate varies based on your profile, from 2.5% to 30% per month (APR - 30 to 260%)

Can I access FairMoney from anywhere in Nigeria?

Do I need documents or a collateral?

No document, no collateral!
You will only need to share your BVN during the loan application and connect your ATM card to authorize us to debit your account for the repayment.

I can't get a loan! 

Why was my loan application rejected?

Apologies on that, you can apply again in 15 days! It might be for different reasons:

  • Not enough information found on the phone: You should increase your phone usage (Calls/SMS) to be eligible.
  • We decided not to give you a credit at this time after analyzing your profile. Keep using your bank account with healthy revenues to get a loan soon.
I do not have access to my BVN phone number

You will need to visit your bank to update your BVN phone number. 

Once this is done the new phone number can be verified in the FairMoney app during the application process. This can only be done once per day.

You will receive an OTP to enter in the app or dial *566*15*99# to generate an OTP.

Why can't I connect my card?

Ask your bank to enable your card for online transactions. You should be able to receive an OTP (One-Time Password) on your phone.

I paid 50 Naira but I didn't get a loan!

The loan transfer should be done instantly – but can take up to 24 hours. Please bear with us. If not received after 24 hours, please send an email to or call our Customer Service Hotline on 017001276 or 018885577 from 9am-5pm every Mon-Fri.

How to repay?

How can I repay?

Click on the "Repay" button in the app to pay with a Debit (ATM) card, USSD or Automatic Bank Transfer (via your Providus wallet)

1. Click on 'Loan details' on the home screen

2. Click on 'Pay'

3. Select 'Full loan amount' to pay your loan in full or select 'Enter amount' to manually enter the amount you would like to pay

4. Click on 'Next'

5. Here you will see the following repayment options:

Bank Transfer

1. Here you will see your unique Providus/Wema Bank account number (990*******) and your account name (FairMoney - [Your Name])

2. Click on 'Copy' and make a deposit into this account via your online banking platform or over the counter at any bank

USSD Transfer

1. Here you will see your bank's USSD code combined with the amount you would like to repay and the Providus Bank account number the funds will be transferred to

2. Copy this code and paste in your phone dialer to make payment

Debit (ATM) card

1. Select 'ATM card'

2. Here you will see the card(s) registered to your account

3. Select the desired card and click 'Pay'

4. Payment will be deducted from the account linked to the card

How do I check my account balance and payment date?

Please log in, you will find your customized dashboard that contains your credit status and/or all the details concerning your current balance.

Can I extend my loan duration?

The repayment date is defined during the application process. To make it convenient for you, we now provide loan extensions to suit your repayment capabilities.

Can I get another loan immediately?

As soon as your previous loan repayment is confirmed, you can reapply immediately and get another loan in seconds!

If I repay early, do I get a discount?

Yes! You can find the amount including the discount if you repay today in the app!

What happens if I don't pay back?

We are humans and understand that unexpected and unforeseen situations may occur.

However, we do not reschedule payment dates, you should take a loan only if you have the capacity to repay it to avoid:

> Late fees (1.5% per day late)
> Report to national credit bureaus 
> Suspension of your FairMoney account
> Automatic debit on your bank account.

Security and privacy

Can I trust FairMoney with my BVN and account details?

FairMoney is a Nigerian-French company with European data security standards. FairMoney will never sell the information you shared to third parties.

Why is FairMoney requesting my BVN?

We request for your BVN to verify your identity and make sure you didn’t default from other companies.

To know your BVN, dial *565*0# from the phone number linked to your bank account.

What happens if I lose my phone?

Send an email to or call our Customer Service Hotline on 01 700 1276 from 8am-9pm every Mon-Sun to get the details of your loan and your repayment date. You can also sign in from another phone if possible.
